New Red Bull boss Laurent Mekies said it felt "a bit unreal" to replace Christian Horner and has emphasised the challenge facing him and the team.

Speaking at a planned filming day with the 2025 car at Silverstone on his first day on the job, Mekies paid tribute to his predecessor and admitted it felt odd to be at Red Bull without Horner there.

Laurent Mekies, born April 28, 1977, in Tours, France, has a strong academic and technical foundation. According to The Sun, he has a degree in mechanical engineering from ESTACA in Paris and a Master’s degree from Loughborough University in the UK.
