Reid Park Zoo opens late after giraffe escape, zoo offcials say
According to zoo officials, Msituni, a 3-year-old giraffe new to the zoo, was outside of her habitat just before 9 a.m., before the zoo opened to the public.

The unexpected morning adventure happened just before 9 a.m., prior to the zoo's regular opening hours. Rather than panicking or straying far, the young giraffe named Msituni stayed in one location, exploring her surroundings and helping herself to a nearby mesquite tree. Officials say Msituni returned to her habitat on her own.
