President Trump called for the U.S. to "own” the Gaza Strip, “level the site” and develop it, explicitly calling for displacing Palestinians from their homeland as the region’s leaders struggle to maintain a fragile ceasefire.

The Palestinian territory Gaza has been decimated from its war with Israel, which began with the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by the terror group Hamas.

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the United States will take over and own the Gaza Strip, adding that "the same people" should not be in charge of rebuilding and occupying the land.
