In an NFL mock draft from FOX Sports' David Helman, the Broncos moved up from No. 20 overall to No. 13, swapping places with the Miami Dolphins to select Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Denver allowed RB Javonte Williams to leave via free agency. He was then signed to a one-year, $3 million deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

Ashton Jeanty is the consensus top running back in the 2025 NFL Draft class. I'm not going to argue against it. As somebody who has followed Jeanty's entire college career and included him on my Heisman ballot (though behind Travis Hunter),

Before Denver's pick, Penn State tight end Tyler Warren went off the board at pick No. 14 to the Indianapolis Colts. Later in the first round, the Los Angeles Chargers select Michigan tight end Colston Loveland at pick No. 22. TE and RB have been popular positions for the Broncos in mock drafts this spring.

Hunter reeled in 96 catches for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns - all career-highs. The Jackson State transfer led the Big 12 in receptions and touchdown catches, and only one player had more yards. With 11 passes defended and four interceptions, the Heisman winner had a career year on defense, too.

The NFL offseason is full of surprises, and they aren’t always good ones. Cowboys fans have been hoping for Ashton Jeanty to be the team’s first-round pick for months, but it seems like that dream may be fading away.
