Manchester United has crashed out of the FA Cup in a penalty shootout defeat to Fulham. Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee had spot kicks saved after the fifth-round game ended 1-1 following extra time on Sunday.

The Manchester United squad suffered through yet another tepid performance, going down by a goal at the stroke of half-time thanks to Calvin Bassey's header past Andre Onana. Bruno Fernandes dragged the team back into the game with a weak-foot finish that pierced through the Fulham defence, enough to take the tie to a shootout.

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has defended saying the club’s goal is to win the Premier League after his remarks were called “naive” by the team’s record goalscorer Wayne Rooney following their FA Cup exit to Fulham.
