The Boston Celtics fended off the Portland Trail Blazers at TD Garden on Wednesday, largely thanks to standout performances from Payton Pritchard and Derrick White. The tandem of guards combined to make some incredible franchise history in the win.

Pritchard and White combined for 84 points, becoming the first Celtics teammates to reach the 40-point mark in the same game, and the first duo in NBA history to connect on at least nine 3-pointers.

Payton Pritchard scored a career-high 43 points and Derrick White tossed in a career-high 41 to lead the short-handed Boston Celtics to a 128-118 victory over the visiting Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night.
