PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Human remains were discovered on Pittsburgh's South Side on Sunday. Allegheny County emergency responders were notified just before 3 p.m. Sunday of possible human remains found in the 2400 block of Burham Street in Pittsburgh's South Side Slopes neighborhood.

Police are investigating after human remains were discovered in Pitsburgh's South Side Slopes neighborhood Sunday afternoon. Officials confirmed to Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that human remains were found within the 2400 block of Burham Street. A cause and manner of death, as well as the identity of the victim, have not been released.

Skeletal remains were found in South Side Slopes. Pittsburgh Police said the human remains were found on the 2400 block of Burham Street Sunday afternoon. Channel 11 saw investigators working in a wooded area at the scene.

Human skeletal remains “in an advanced state of decomposition” were found Sunday afternoon in Pittsburgh’s South Side Slopes, said Emily Bourne, a city public safety spokeswoman. Bourne said the remains were found in the 2400 block of Burham Street.
